The Rochester Valiant website
Thank
you for visiting my site! I’ve not had much time for this site
over the last year, but I should have a bit more from now on and so
you can expect new stuff to start appearing. Please let me know what
else you’d like to see here, and what’s wrong with the
stuff that
is here. (To do that, email me at
rochestervaliant@yahoo.co.uk.)
Getting
to football grounds
This
section of the site has not been updated for over a year, but it will
be back in time for the 2016-17 season. For now, it covers English
football from the Premier League down to Step 6 as of 2014-15, and
rugby league as of 2014.
Some other sports may be added in
the future; rugby union is likely to be next.
The League
Cricket Spreadsheet
Regular
readers will know about this one. It’s a spreadsheet about
league cricket, especially the ECB Premier Leagues. It is available
for both MS Excel and LibreOffice.

LibreOffice
version (736

A
Big Spreadsheet
You’ll
never guess what’s linked from the page called A
Big Spreadsheet! An update of the Big Spreadsheet is currently in
preparation and will appear, well, soon. At present, this spreadsheet
tabulates the finishing positions (from the 1945-46 season onwards)
of every football league which falls within what we now call Steps 1
to 5.
Another
Big Spreadsheet – Places in These Islands
This
spreadsheet was produced for my own professional purposes, and very
useful it has been too. But since I own it and no one can tell me not
to, I’m putting it on here in case anyone else finds it useful.
It’s a list of every place in the UK (England, Northern
Ireland, Scotland and Wales), Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle
of Man which had a population of 500 or more as per the most recent
information available. That comes to 6,414 places, and you’ll
find all of them from Abberton to Ystradgynlais – together with
their populations and some other useless information – on the
spreadsheet.
Anyone is welcome to use this information for
private purposes or for the purposes of a not-for-profit organisation
(to include state sector schools, colleges and universities within
the European Union, Channel Islands and Isle of Man). Anyone wishing
to use the information for the purposes of a commercial organisation
is invited to get in touch with me at the email address above and
talk money.
The spreadsheet is available for both MS Excel
and for LibreOffice / Apache OpenOffice.
